“I graduated from Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN in 2008 with a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. I played baseball four years, earning All-Conference twice, All-Region twice, and 1st team Academic All-American my senior year. Unfortunately, I broke my leg a little over half way through my senior year, bringing my playing career to an abrupt end.
Two days after graduation, I was offered a job as the head baseball coach, assistant football coach, and math teacher at Chuckey-Doak High School in Greeneville. I have learned a lot in a short time about being a coach and all the “fun” stuff that comes with the territory. I also helped coach a college summer team in Johnson City, TN in ’08 and ’09, which won to back-to-back league championships.
I have taken up slow pitch softball the past two summers, Boo and I guided our team of old guys to a tournament championship this summer. This summer was also very good to me as I was married to my wife, Sara, on July 17th. She is a 2nd grade teacher in the neighboring town of Newport, and we currently live in Greeneville, TN.”
