Excerpt from the 2003 media guide…
“Coach Marshall is entering his 7th year as a PLD baseball coach, his 3rd as head coach. He is extremely excited about the upcoming years, and looks forward to a great season. Coach Marshall is a graduate of Tates Creek High School, where he was part of a state championship in baseball in 1986. He went on to play college baseball at Campbellsville University, and finished his degree at Eastern Kentucky University.
After a successful tenure as a youth coach in the South Lexington Youth League, Coach Marshall got a shot to join the Bulldog staff under Coach Hanson–where he has been ever since. Coach Marshall was selected as East/West All-Star coach for the state of Kentucky in 2002 where two of his players helped lead the East to a 3-1 victory.”

Of course, Coach Marshall went on to lead the Bulldogs in 2003 to Dunbar’s first State Championship and a new state record of 41-4, and earned the Coach of the Year award. Then in 2007, Coach Marshall led Dunbar to their second state title.
