Excerpt from the 2003 media guide…
“Coach Fitzpatrick is in his fourth year as a coach at Dunbar. Coach “Fitz” is excited about the upcoming season. There is so much talent at the JV level this year the team is going to be really fun to watch. With six eighth graders and nine freshmen that are new to the program it is going to be a challenge, but rewarding at the same time.
Coach Fitz is a former Tates Creek Commofore and teammate of Coach Marshall. He played baseball, basketball, and football for the Commodores. Fitz continued his stellar athletic career at the University of Kentucky as a walk on place kicker.
Before coming to Dunbar, coach Fitz coached youth baseball, in the Lexington area for several years. Coach Fitz has been the Freshmen head coach, pitching coach at the varsity level, and head JV coach during his tenure at Dunbar.”
