“Coach Knight is a 1997 graduate of PLD. He went on to play baseball at Translyvania University and is currently attending the University of Kentucky where he is pursuing a Masters Degree in Secondary Education. As an English major, he plans to teach high school English.
Coach Knight umpired youth baseball for eight years in Lexington and most recently umpired for three years in the KHSAA 8th Region. His coaching career began when he was 19 for the Man O War baseball 16-18 year old traveling team where he has coached many former Dunbar players. He helped lead them to the Connie Mack Regional Tournament in 1999 and has since become their head coach. Seth also coached at Southwest Babe Ruth the last two seasons where he helped his team to a league championship and back-to-back city tournaments. This past summer he also helped coach a 16 and under girls softball all-star team from Lexington that made it to the NSA World Series in South Carolina.
Coach Knight brings his deep love of baseball and a strong commitment to teach the game to his players at PLD. He is very excited about this chance to work with Coach Marshall and the rest of the staff at on of the premiere baseball programs in Kentucky.”
