“Coach Roettger is returning for his 2nd year as a member of the Varsity team coaching staff. Two years ago he was the coach for PLD’s junior varsity team. Coach Roettger also, was a member of Dunbar’s first three varsity baseball teams.
While attending Western Kentucky University, he began his coaching career under Clint Clark at Butler high School. Coach Roettger helped lead the Bears to two back-to-back 3rd Region Tournament appearances, a 1999 10th District Championship, and a school best 27-10 record in 1999. While at Butler County, he also helped the Kentucky Colonels to the 1997 American Legion State Championship, and coached many of the 4th Region’s best college prospects during the fall.
In 2000, Coach Roettger began his head coaching career as the head varsity softball coach at Fred T. Ford High School in Newton, NC. He led the Tigers to a 22-3 record, Western Regional Finals, Western Foothills Conference Championship, and the #7 ranking in the Charlotte-Observer Sweet 16 Poll. He has coached the past two summer with the Lexington Bulldogs. Summer of 2002 Junior East/West All-Star game he was Assistant coach to Mickey Marshall, and coached at the UK Baseball Camp.”
